Facts About the Jets

New York Jets are in their 50th Season

The First NY Jets Game was Played on September 11, 1960.

The New York Jets were renamed in 1963 to reflect the frequent jets that flew over Shea Stadium from LaGuardia Airport. The New York Jets name was fitting because it rhymed with the baseball team who shared the stadium with them, the New York Mets.

New York Jets Logo is a green colored football with the abbreviation for New York (NY) also green but with a distinct white outline. In solid white lettering the name JETS appears on top of the NY and a small white and green football graphic sits between the letters N and Y just below the word Jets.

The official New York Jets colors are: Green and White
