The New York Football Jets (3-1) may have completed the offensive puzzle by trading for superstar – with issues – Braylon Edwards from the Eric Mangini coached Cleveland Browns (0-4).

Braylon Edwards gives the Jets exactly what they needed and exactly what they were missing. A deep threat that demands respect and attention from opposing defenses. No more crowding the line means Leon Washington will have space catching the ball out of the backfield and Thomas Jones up the middle runs will be more productive. Cotchery is a great number 2 receiver to complement Braylon Edwards. Tight End Dustin Kellar should also be one of the huge beneficiaries of the Braylon Edwards trade as his targets and catches should improve as he will be used less often as a blocker and more often as a receiver.

Chansi Stuckey,  linebacker Jason Trusnik and a few middle round draft picks is all the Jets had to give up to get a guy who is only a year removed from a monster season. Edwards never played on a good team before, so the general expectations is he will have no problem making big plays for the Jets.

Great Defense, rising superstar quarterback, pro-bowl running backs, quality tight end, awesome offensive line, and now a deep threat superstar wide receiver. Looks like the team to beat in the division and a true Superbowl contender.
